There are a hundred reasons to visit Bend, but we think our river and lake tours hit the top ten. If you came here to breath fresh mountain air and experience a few moments of serenity in a pristine natural setting, sign up for a full or half-day tour with Tumalo Creek. There are plenty of options, so be sure to check out of calendar of events to find your perfect tour at www.tumalocreek.com, and we are always happy to set up a private trip for parties of five or more.
More about the Full-Day Upper Deschutes Tour:
Tumalo Creek’s full-day kayak, canoe or SUP tour begins just past the Wickiup Reservoir and continues nine miles down the Upper Deschutes to Wyeth Camp Ground. This section of the river is characterized by moving flatwater; the current helps your boat along, and there are no sections of whitewater that require technical paddling skills. This is a great trip for beginning boaters and kids, but advanced paddlers will also enjoy the serenity and beautiful scenery of this peaceful section of the river.
There are a few summer homes on the first few miles of this run, but eventually the river begins to wind through the forest with trees on all sides. Paddlers can expect to see deer, elk, cougar, black bear, bald eagles, red tail hawks, great blue herons, beavers and otters.
This is the trip for families or groups looking for a fun and peaceful full-day experience out on the beautiful Deschutes River. Price includes all gear, expert guides and a bag lunch.
We must have four or more paddlers to make this trip a go. If you'd like to book this within two days of the departure date, please call the shop to book your trip as we no longer take online reservations at that time. Thanks! 541.317.9407.
